Whereabout Hostel Lakeside

Had a wonderful experience at Whereabout Hostel. The location is perfect—right near Lake Pichola and close to all the major attractions. The hostel has a very chill and friendly vibe, especially on the rooftop, which is great for meeting fellow travelers. The staff is extremely welcoming, helpful, and always ready to assist with local recommendations or travel plans. Rooms and dorms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The overall atmosphere feels safe, social, and positive—perfect for solo travelers as well as groups. Definitely great value for money. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Udaipur, and I’d love to stay here again!

Good reasonable priced hostel. The staff members were nice and supportive. Felt like friends Jamming sessions are done almost everyday and its also a good experience. You can enjoy till late nights. There's a rooftop cafe from where you can see the lake. Rooms were also good and spacious. Shoutout to all the staff members 🙌 Will visit again for sure.

Amazing stay at Whereabout Hostel! I had a wonderful experience at Whereabout Hostel. The staff and everyone there were extremely friendly, supportive, and welcoming. The vibe of the place was very positive and made the stay really comfortable. A special thanks to Suraj bhaiya, who was incredibly helpful, kind, and always supportive. I also joined the BharatEscapes tour in Udaipur, and it was amazing. I really loved the places they took us to — well planned and truly enjoyable. Overall, the staff was really amazing and made the entire experience memorable. Highly recommended!

*UNPROFESSIONAL STAFFS AND PAID PROMOTION CREEPS + SCAMMERS* --If you'all don't want any worst life experience in your life then don't book this hostel. Misbehaving staffs, no coordination, and paid promotion is the theme of this hostel. If you see any 5 star ratings for this hostel immediately think that it is a paid promotion done by this hostel management. In my case, i had already booked this hostel with advance payment and was still ought to pay 1365/- after checkout. They said they will be providing us with extra bed in the same room with minimal charges and will take no extra charges for late check out. This was a false statement given by them. One or the other person said different prices for a single room, extra bed, and late check out prices. There is no coordination between staffs, they even don't know how to talk to customers. It was my first time in udaipur and it turned out to be my worst experience because of this hostel and the staffs too. 'ABOUT THE CLEANLINESS OF THIS HOSTEL' : It was just like we are in somewhat slum area which was not accepted by us. Room was smelly and it's drainage system was blocked. Geyser was not working at all. Because of all this experience in my first visit to udaipur, i had to immediately book a hotel which was low priced which was better serviced. Adding more to it, Whereabout Hostel staffs in front desk didn't even refunded back my money. In Conclusion Whereabout Hostel is not a hostel but a "SLUM"

Worst experience of my life. Please read before booking I honestly had the worst experience of my life at this property. Please do not waste your hard earned money here. It is a total nightmare. 1. Tiny Rooms: The room was extremely small. There is no space for even a chair or stool. Once you enter, there is only the bed. 2. Hygiene Issues: The place smells bad and feels unhygienic. 3. Rude Staff & Scams: The staff is very rude. First, they force you to cancel your online booking so they can keep the whole profit. If you ask for water or towels, you have to beg again and again. 4. Unbearable Noise: It is impossible to sleep here. The staff and their friends run up and down the stairs talking loudly. Even after asking them to be quiet, they don't care. 5. Jamming & Harassment: They have a terrible (besura) jamming session at night. They just want to sell drinks and will even knock on your door late at night to disturb you. They kept tapping on the roof loudly, and I didn't sleep the whole night. 6. Scooty Rental Scam: Do not take their scooty service! They charge very high rates. When we ran out of petrol, they refused to help unless we bought their tour package. In the end, they refused to return our security money by putting false allegations that we scratched the bike. This place is a mental torture. Please avoid it at all costs.
