I would not recommend staying here for local Indians or foreigners visiting India. I travel a lot and am specifically travelling from Thailand. The manager and staff are so rude — they don’t even have the courtesy to offer a bed replacement. I had made a booking for 12 days, and this evening they allocated my bed to someone else. I lost my laptop charger as I had left it plugged into the socket above my bed. I have always tried to adjust, but let me also share the feedback below from last August to date: 1. They don’t allow guests to order outside food or eat in the common area of the hostel, which is the rooftop, in order to run their expensive food stall — where cockroaches are running around in the kitchen and rooms (photo attached). 2. They are against outsiders, yet their own staff bring outside people in themselves. No such policies apply to the staff here. 3. No daily cleaning, even after requesting it multiple times. 4. The food menu is extremely overpriced, making it impossible to eat affordably here, and since they also enforce a no outside food policy, there is no option to eat budget-friendly food or food you enjoy from outside. 5. This place had an incident where a woman was molested, which is a serious concern for women’s safety. 6. The local staff are biased towards South Indians, with North Indians being treated very poorly and not receiving the standard of service they deserve despite paying market-rate prices. This place has bed smells of cigarettes and weed everywhere and if you are a non smokers then this is not your place.
Staff are wonderful. Bed was clean, dorm was dark and cool. No problem sleeping. The manager, Ram, is outstanding in his rapport and attention. Food is average, but consistent and safe. Common areas are busy in the good way. It’s a social stay, for sure. Awesome location. Congratulations for the fruits of your labor, Social Stays Team!
As seasoned travellers who journey extensively both within India and abroad, my companions and I hold ourselves to a discerning standard when it comes to accommodation. It is with considerable disappointment that I feel compelled to caution fellow travellers — whether local Indians or international visitors — against patronising this establishment. I am writing this having travelled from Thailand specifically, and what I have encountered here is nothing short of unacceptable. The management and staff conduct themselves with a striking absence of professionalism and basic hospitality. They lack even the most elementary courtesy — such as offering a bed replacement when, during a confirmed 12-night reservation, my allocated bed was arbitrarily assigned to another guest. To compound matters further, my laptop charger, which I had left in the socket above my designated bed, has since gone missing — a direct consequence of their negligence. I have, by nature, endeavoured to remain accommodating and patient. However, given the persistent pattern of mismanagement I have observed from last August through to the present day, I feel it necessary to formally document the following grievances: 1. Prohibition of Outside Food: Guests are expressly forbidden from ordering external food or dining in the communal rooftop area — a policy that exists solely to coerce guests into patronising their overpriced in-house food stall, which, I must add, operates out of a kitchen visibly infested with cockroaches (photographic evidence attached). 2. Selective Enforcement of Policies: While guests are prohibited from hosting or interacting with outside individuals, members of staff routinely bring unauthorised external persons onto the premises without any consequence — a glaring and hypocritical double standard. 3. Absence of Basic Housekeeping: Daily room cleaning is entirely non-existent, despite having been requested on multiple occasions. The most fundamental standards of hygiene and upkeep are simply not being met. 4. Exorbitant and Exploitative Pricing: The food menu is priced at a level wholly disproportionate to the quality on offer, rendering affordable dining an impossibility — and given the simultaneous ban on outside food, guests are left with no viable alternative. It is, in effect, a captive pricing arrangement that borders on exploitative.
Had a really nice stay here. The place is very comfortable and well maintained. A special shoutout to the front desk manager, Mr. Ragul, who handles everything very calmly and is always helpful. The rooftop is a great spot to relax and grab some good food bites. The food was tasty and the chefs were very friendly as well. The overall vibe of the place is really good. Whether you’re visiting Bangalore for a short stay or a longer one, this place definitely works well. Would recommend it!
I had a fantastic stay at The Social Stays in Koramangala! The location is perfect — right in the heart of Koramangala with easy access to cafés, restaurants, and shopping spots. Everything you need is just a short walk away. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The beds were cozy, and the overall vibe of the place felt modern and welcoming. The common areas were lively yet relaxing — perfect for meeting new people or just chilling after a long day. What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything needed. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. Overall, it’s a great place for both short and long stays. I would definitely recommend The Social Stays to anyone visiting Bengaluru and looking for a comfortable, well-located, and friendly place to stay. Will surely come back again!
