When you should go there

  • 1. It is a very small(<10 beds) community driven hostel – with a tight-knit long-term community
  • 2.The evening Bak***** with Babaji

When you should not go there

  • 1.You are coming only for a short trip – you will not enjoy the hostel on a trip for only a couple of days
  • 2.You are expecting hotel – Tebaar is literally a home so don’t come expecting a hotel
  • 3.You are not willing to make tea for the owners

Amazing hosts, we did cleaning, cooking, masti all together (no maid here) Consider it as your home and you will get homely vibe here in return. Perfect place for the people who are flexible and eager to learn new things.

My sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Babaji and his wife. I spent 2 weeks in Teebar hostel, I had good time there and I felt like at home. I will definitely come back one day ! Thanks 🙏

I had the best experience in Rishikesh I could wish to myself. Here the atmosphere it's really familiar funny friendly, the hostel has a good location, rooftop for yoga, space for painting, swim at ganga in the afternoon and enjoy fire by night. Yoga classes and cafe near by, but mostly this place it's a magnet for chill & good vibes 🦩

The best place in all of Rishikesh and Tapovan! Babaji and Arshiya welcome you like at home in their hostel which is almost no longer one as the atmosphere is warm! I thank with all my heart all the people who were with me during these stays and especially Babadji and Arshiya for the hospitality and welcome. I hope to see you again very soon and wish you the best for the future! Hugo

I just had the best experience in Tebaar hostel From the moment I came in, i straight away found a cozy and warm energy in the environment and from Arshiya and Babaji , the owners In general you will feel part of a big family, also with the other guests, it's a place that brings connections and I felt so happy to be part of it 😌 Super central , but enough out of the main roads to don't be bothered by sounds. I really raccomend Love you Tebaar 🫂

Our stay at this hostel was pathetic. Starting from beginning- It took more than half an hour to find hostel even we are roaming in the same street, as there is no signboard over there. Local people & shopkeepers also don't know about it. Secondly, It is completely outdated because they did manual entries in a register, unlike other hostels that use a system or an app. It cost us double than other hostels that we stayed earlier(green escape, blu jay, 12 monks, joey by the ganges etc) and had no A.C even in peak summers, and since it was on the top floor, it felt really hot. There is only 1 room & it was very small with just 6 bunk beds. We were told there were other people staying there, but there was no one, so it wasn't fun at all. The owner, a man called Babaji (don't know what kind of babaji he is), was really rude and threatened us when we were quiety drinking beer in our room (as we got extremely bored), even though we agreed to stop. We were drinking beer quietly in our room without causing any disturbance. He shouted at us & tried to scare us by saying that he is from Roorke and he tried to scare us through his local power. The whole place, which can't even be called a hostel, had many alcohol bottles placed in the house and there fridge was full of alcohol and they smoke weed and lighter is hung in the toilet as well. Also, during check out, they was really hurrying us and didn't allow us even a few extra minutes, that other hostels do usually (they gave us hours without any extra charge). We had no problem with the girl Arshia, but Babaji's behavior was really bad. Babaji was not professional at all and didn't know how to treat people. Also, they have mentioned that they don't give beds to people from UP and Haryana, which is a form of discrimination. Local authority should cancel their pwrmit to run a hostel as they were not following any kind of SOP's and standards needed for a hostel. I won't recommend this place to anyone even if they are offering it at half price. Worthless place.
