Honestly, this was my first experience of staying in a hostel, so I don’t really have a benchmark to compare it with. That said, I can confidently say you won’t find anything to complain about when it comes to cleanliness, comfort, hospitality, or the rooms—they have everything you need.
The hostel also has a rooftop café with a beautiful view of the lake, along with a few interesting games to enjoy. I came in hoping to make new friends, and that expectation was completely fulfilled. Kashish and Mahen, along with a few others, made the experience even more memorable.
Although it was a solo trip, it never felt like one because of their friendly nature and their willingness to help whenever I needed guidance.
In short, it’s a fantastic place for solo travelers and photographers.
Go for it without a second thought—you won’t regret your decision.
So we booked basic room for 2 people. And when we arrived we got to know the room which we booked is in renovation (to notice we did booking 1 day ago) and we got upgrade of better room. And they forced us to pay more. I got a phone call with manager and i was annoyed he told me talk to me nicely i am very senior to you. To be honest i don't give damm about it. And then he said pay more because you got upgrade which we didn't asked. We paid 1200 rupee more it was pure scam.
And in night people don't care about hostel rules Like respecting other guests, talking so loud that it really bothered us. I had to complain twice about it.
And let's talk about hostel environment. Roof top is amazing for lake view. Staff is polite and friendly. Lake and main temple is quite closeby.
Tamasha Hostel made my Udaipur trip truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, Mahen and Misbah bhai at the reception treated us like old friends — super friendly, genuine, and always ready to help. He guided us with everything — from local sightseeing to hidden food spots — and made sure we had the best experience possible.
The hostel has such a positive and chill vibe. The rooms are clean and cozy, but the real highlight is the rooftop view! 😍 Watching the Udaipur sunset from there was absolutely magical — music, laughter, and an amazing atmosphere all around.
If you’re visiting Udaipur and looking for a friendly, fun, and peaceful place to stay, Tamasha Hostel is definitely the one! ❤️
We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. We extended it from one to three nights. The staff was really nice and the rooms how you can expect it for the price. Also the view from the roof top is quite nice! The only negative was the noise during a night from the roof top. There are rules about being silent after 11 pm but it was not looked after it from the hostel side.
