Shalom Hostel Rishikesh

Stayed here for a night in a mixed dorm after pre-booking. The check-in process was smooth, and the location is definitely one of the biggest advantages. It’s right near the Ganga lakshman jhula and most cafes, shops, and attractions are within walking distance. I felt there is room for improvement when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene. The dormitory, bedsheets, and bathroom didn’t feel as clean as expected, which made the stay a little uncomfortable. I hope the management focuses more on maintaining the rooms and ensuring guests are allotted clean, well-prepared beds. One thing to keep in mind is that the property is located in a walkable area, so cars cannot reach directly to the hostel. If you’re carrying luggage, it’s better to plan accordingly. Overall, the location is great, but better cleanliness would make the experience much better.

We booked a double bed duplex and the condition of the room was embarrassing. Stains on the blanket, cobweb and zero maintenance. The washroom was so dirty that I had to clean it myself, and I cleaned the cobwebs too because it was late and there was nowhere else to go. What a shame! You pay for a good stay and this is what you get. Never choosing this shitty place for stay ever again. The toll it took on my mental health was such that the nice view couldn’t do anything about it.

I am sharing this review out of my own genuine experience, as I truly felt like expressing my appreciation. Firstly, the view of the Ganga from my room was absolutely amazing. Watching the river flow was incredibly peaceful, and it is something I will truly miss — I genuinely loved that view. Additionally, the staff was highly professional, courteous, and very supportive throughout my stay. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable experience. We had our stay for 3 days, and honestly the standard room was extremely small, almost like a tin cabin. Spending more than 1500 per day for such a tiny room felt disappointing. There was so little space that I couldn’t even open my suitcase properly. The bathroom was also very small, with hardly any room to bathe comfortably. On top of that, the windows were facing the common balcony, which felt quite irritating and uncomfortable in terms of privacy. That said, I spoke with Mr. Ujjal, and he was very helpful. Since it was a weekday, he assisted us with an upgrade to a duplex room, which was much bigger and far more comfortable. That upgrade really improved our stay. Overall, the staff was helpful and supportive, especially Mr. Ujjal, but the standard room size is far too small and not worth the price. Location is great ! ganga facing

My first stay at Shalom today turned out to be one of the best experiences I have had so far. I have stayed at several hostels before, but this one truly stood out and became my personal favorite. fa The café served absolutely amazing food, and the overall ambiance of the property was very warm and welcoming. What impressed me the most was the staff - they were extremely helpful, polite, and well-mannered throughout my stay. I would especially like to mention one staff member (I unfortunately don't remember his name) who was tall, fair, and had a very cheerful personality. He was incredibly friendly, funny, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable with his positive attitude. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and memorable hostel experience. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
