During our trip to Goa, we stayed here for five days. The location is prime, though slightly tucked away, and it is close to Anjuna and Vagator beaches. The room we stayed in was decent, and the bed was comfortable.
The caretaker/receptionist, Ryan, is very friendly and pleasant in nature. The dorm mates were also decent. The only issue I noticed during my stay was cleanliness.
Shalom Backpackers, Anjuna – North Goa
Staying at Shalom Backpackers was also on our bucket list, as we wanted to experience living in a hostel with unknown people. So we decided to book here.
It is located in North Goa, in a quiet, rural-area property.
We booked 4 beds in a 10-bed mixed dorm during the Christmas season for a total of ₹1200, which was definitely worth the price.
The beds are comfortable, and parking is available.
Anjuna Beach and the Anjuna Flea Market are around 20 minutes away.
One thing to note: amenities like towels and locks are chargeable.
The bathroom is quite small and not as spacious as we expected.
There is no restaurant inside the property, but food can be ordered from outside, which is manageable.
Overall, it’s a good budget-friendly hostel for backpackers who want a social hostel experience in North Goa.
Rooms at Shalom Backpackers are decent and comfortable, but the overall experience was disappointing. The washrooms were in very bad condition, and there was no proper water supply water was unavailable for almost 7 hours. Service is practically non-existent. The swimming pool was dirty and clearly not cleaned regularly. The play area is broken and poorly maintained. Overall, basic facilities and maintenance need serious improvement.
I had a great stay at this hostel! The place was clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff and fellow travelers were friendly, and the overall experience was excellent - a special thanks to Ryan for all the help and support during my travels. He really made my trip easier and more enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a pleasant and friendly place to stay!
I had a wonderful experience staying at Shalom Backpackers, Anjuna! The place has such a warm and welcoming vibe the staff are super friendly, helpful, and always smiling, which makes you feel right at home. The hospitality and service were excellent everything was well-managed, clean, and comfortable. The atmosphere is perfect for meeting new people and relaxing, with a great mix of fun and peace.
