I really enjoyed my overall experience at Santa Maria Hostel. I received a warm welcome from Diljith, who was very kind and shared lots of helpful information about the area. The atmosphere was great, with cosy evenings full of music, laughter, and interesting conversations with other travellers. The breakfast was simple but good, and I felt very comfortable and safe throughout my whole stay as a solo female traveller. The location is ideal, and the hostel is full of art and murals, making it a lovely place, especially for creative souls. Overall it was a very warm and memorable experience that I would definitely recommend.

Location is really good. You can walk to aspi wall and other bien venues. Vibe is also great as its mostly backpackers. Jenny is great host. Only con is in the private ac room, washroom window is not covered. Please cover that else everything is good. Also, on 2 floor, wifi connectivity wasnt great as well.

Staff is really nice. So is decoration. Otherwise this is a PARTY PLACE - good if you are tipsy but not for sober people. -- the music downstairs is loud even at 1 a.m. -- people come back to the room from partying downstairs any time, being drunk, they will turn on the light at 3 a.m. etc -- my bed had no curtain -- the beds are made of metal and climbing up is a bit like climbing up in a ship facility, it's a bit of a task even for a fit person -- doors (outside and to the bathroom) are loud when open / closed. No door handle inside on the room door -- outstanding amount of mosquitos! Recommended only if you are looking for party company. Then it's nice. Otherwise good sleep or ambiance is not guaranteed

I really loved the experience of staying in Santa Maria. This was my first time staying at a hostel and hosts at Santa Maria made it the best by suggesting us a lot of places and food spots around fort kochi. It is also very affordable. For the price of the stay they even provide a complementary breakfast which was amazing. Overall the stay and the hosts were amazing.

I first came here about four years ago, planning just a short 2-day stay. But what was supposed to be a quick trip turned into more than a week—and honestly, that says everything about this place. The hosts are not just welcoming, they’re genuinely warm and kind in a way that makes you feel at home instantly. During my stay, I even got to celebrate a festival with them, which turned a simple trip into something truly memorable. After that, they took me around to explore the nearby places, sharing stories and experiences you’d never get as a regular tourist. Since then, I’ve kept coming back again and again. What started as a hostel stay has now become something much deeper—it feels less like visiting friends and more like returning to family. I’ve even started bringing groups of people along, just so they can experience the same warmth and connection. If you’re looking for just a place to stay, this might exceed your expectations. But if you’re open to experiences, connections, and memories that stay with you, this place is something special. “You can check in anytime you like, but you can never leave.”
