The place is beautiful! Done by an architect - designer. Very well designed, it felt like a sanctuary-resort feng shui perfect, color theory perfect, very high vibrational place. I stayed long. If you are there during the monsoon season, you might get the whole place for yourself, just like I did. And I enjoyed it a lot! I liked the colors. They used a very beautiful green for the wood parts and the metal parts. And then a pastel orange for the walls that turns cold pink with the early morning light and in late afternoon it turns into warm hot orange yellow color with the late afternoon sun. All front facade is glass There is an old orchard on one side with big old trees, like a thick jungle and you see and hear a lot of birds, even a peacock from time to time. Also monkeys came a few times. There is a colorful tempel right next to it and you can hear tempel chanting and music in the morning. There is Juicy Cafe right accross the street. I recommend hot crispy vade at 6 am, right when it comes out of the frying pan and then again at 2 pm if you are lucky, you get to taste their banana bandas with 28 ingredients. Special! Also the bistro at Mellow is TOP! When they make homemade chocolate cakes, you will not be able to stop yoursel from running downstairs and get some. Same for the coffee, they have a top quality coffee that smells and tastes divine. I also recommend chicken with potatoes! Smells divine when they make it! The place is kept very clean and all the staff is very friendly. If you want to go surfing in the morning, many guest come also for that to Mellow as the Surf School Shop is attached to Mellow. You might get company! And there is a motorbike rental right in front. Very convenient! The beach and the cliff are only 10 min walk away. Internet connection is great, too. All rooms have AC. I do recommend you this place! 10 out of 10!

We recently visited Mellow and had an amazing Ukrainian dining experience! We were a group of five, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The presentation, flavors, and portion sizes were all perfect — from the creamy mashed potatoes to the crispy rolls and comforting cutlets, everything tasted authentic and homemade. A special thanks to Alina, who was incredibly helpful throughout. She patiently explained the dishes and helped us choose a lovely variety, making sure we got the best flavors from their menu. Her friendly attitude and great suggestions really made the meal even more enjoyable! We loved the atmosphere, the food, and the service — and we would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try genuine Ukrainian cuisine with a cozy vibe.

Our stay in Varkala was literally amazing and filled with so much peace. Every corner of the space felt calm, comforting, and truly like home. We enjoyed the slow mornings, quiet moments, and the overall soothing vibe of the place. It was the kind of stay where you instantly feel relaxed and welcomed. A perfect escape to unwind and simply be ! Loved it soo much 🤎🤎🤎

Extremely disappointing experience – absolutely not a quiet place I chose this hostel because it was women-only and advertised as quiet after 11 PM, so I expected a calm environment. That was absolutely not the case. Girls in my dorm were celebrating a birthday: lights on until 1:30 AM, loud talking and noise in the room and in the corridors. I barely slept and missed my surf lesson the next morning. When I asked for a refund for my second night (already paid), the reception was completely unhelpful and refused, showing no understanding at all. The place is noisy (traffic and music), feels cheap, showers are far away and no hot water and bedsheets dirty. If you are looking for a quiet place in Varkala, this is not it. You can find much better places for the same price. Not recommended.

Travelled from Canada..I had a peaceful and safe stay at Mellows Ladies Hostel. I was here for two weeks. I met an amazing friend here as well. The hostel staff are also very kind. Overall, it was a really great experience and I loved how it was a walkable distance to the beautiful Varkala cliff beach area as well. Thank you ❤️😊🙏🏽
