Mellow Hostel

As a female traveler, I felt very safe and comfortable staying at this hostel. The dorms were cozy, and what impressed me the most was how clean and fresh everything was. The bedsheets and pillows smelled wonderful, which was exactly what I needed after a long day of traveling. A special thank you to the lovely owner for the warm welcome and hospitality. She made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. I also loved the washrooms, which had a beautiful natural touch. As someone who is used to city life, being surrounded by nature made me feel relaxed and refreshed. Thank you so much for hosting us. If you're looking for a cozy, clean, and peaceful place to stay, I highly recommend this hostel. We truly enjoyed our stay and created wonderful memories here. I stayed at Mellow Hostel & Bistro during my visit to Varkala . Being a ladies-only hostel, it offers a safe and comfortable environment for solo female travelers. Overall, the stay was decent,not luxurious, but not bad either. The hostel has a small bistro café at the entrance with budget-friendly food options. However, one thing I noticed immediately was the number of flies around the café area, which could definitely be better managed and maintained. The accommodation offers both AC and non-AC bunk bed rooms, allowing guests to choose according to their budget and preference. The rooms were fairly comfortable, but the common bathroom area could use significant improvement. During my visit, it wasn’t very clean, and due to the rainy season, maintenance seemed lacking. Having dedicated bathrooms for each room would greatly enhance the guest experience. Another disappointment was that some of the amenities promised at the time of booking, such as certain toiletries, water bottles, and other essentials, were not provided during the stay. This created a gap between expectations and reality. Overall, Mellow Hostel & Bistro is a decent budget-friendly option for women travelers in Varkala, but there is definitely room for improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and delivering the amenities promised to guests. Better attention to these details would make guests feel more confident that they have chosen the right place to stay.

I will be forever greatful to Ms ayleen , hope I didn't butcher the name. She and her team were really gracious and helpful. They even upgraded us to a private property. The stay is very close to the beach. Only walkable distance. If we walk through their private property, you will end up near to little tibet cafe ( one of the famous cafe s in varkala) Thankyou for everything
