We stayed at this hostel for three days, and it turned out to be a truly beautiful experience for both me and my husband.
The meals were absolutely delicious and felt very homely. We stayed in a shared room with a couple of strangers who quickly became friendly and made the stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights for us was the sunrise ride—it was an amazing experience to share such a peaceful and memorable moment with people we had just met. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, the people were wonderful, and the experience left us with lovely memories.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, good food, and meaningful travel experiences.
Hostel Mantra is the best hostel in Udaipur. This is my second stay and I will be coming back again!! This was the perfect place to celebrate Holi! The sunrise scooter tour is also epic. Staff are amazing, food is great and the most amazing views. Can’t recommend enough!! See you soon!
One of the best hostels I have been in India. I really enjoyed the daily activities you offer. Immediately I felt the hospitality of their staff and the accommodations. I liked the commun areas and the beautiful view to the lake. I need to mention that Ayush did an excellent bike tour to the mountain hills, it was really fun to see the sunrise! and he always showed his positive energy with the guests. I hope to come back soon. 😊
We had an amazing experience during our recent stay at Hostel Mantra Udaipur in a Lakeside Room. The vibes here are super friendly, warm, and welcoming — a home away from home, literally.
It is at the perfect location: close to the main market and popular spots, and yet behind a quiet lane that has no traffic or noise, hence ideal for a peaceful stay.
The rooftop restaurant is a must mention-it gives incredible views of Lake Pichola, great and yummy food, with a chill and cozy atmosphere. Free chai during sunset, which we missed as we were out most of the evening's, and karaoke nights sounded fun as well! We had Masala Omelet, Mushroom Omelette, and Ginger chai; it was really good!
The cleanliness was good, and the luggage storage facility was really convenient for us after checkout. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a comfortable stay — always ready to help.

I had a fantastic stay at Hostel Mantra, Udaipur. The location is perfect—very close to Lake Pichola and most of the main attractions, so exploring the city becomes really easy even on foot. The hostel has a very relaxed and friendly vibe, and it’s a great place to meet travelers from different parts of the world.
The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. They are always ready to suggest good local places to eat and things to do around the city. The rooms and dorms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the common areas have a nice social atmosphere where it’s easy to connect with other travelers.
One of the best things about Hostel Mantra is the rooftop view. Watching the sunset from there with the beautiful Udaipur skyline and lake views is truly special. The hostel also feels safe and organized, which makes it a great choice for solo travelers.
Overall, if you are looking for an affordable, friendly, and well-located hostel in Udaipur with a good traveler vibe, Hostel Mantra is definitely a great choice. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Udaipur.
