5/5 Stars — Exceptional Stay! I had an amazing stay at Locomo Hostels! The vibe of the property is super chill, clean, and extremely welcoming—perfect for both relaxing and meeting great people. A special shoutout to Siddhesh bhai! He made sure everything was smooth, seamless, and comfortable right from check-in. His hospitality, local recommendations, and warmth genuinely made a huge difference to the overall experience. If you're looking for a comfortable stay with good vibes and top-notch hospitality, Locomo is the place to be. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be coming back!
This is the most honest review of this place you will get, so please read carefully. I stayed here for 3 days. 1. The building is really old and dirty. There are cockroaches in room. The washrooms were clean but the room was very dirty - cockroaches, paint peeling off, etc. 2. The girl the the reception denied the request to change the linens in the room. She kept making excuses like staff is not available, this not the timing, etc. 3. The security situation is dicey - The iron gate to the building is brocken. The neighbourhood is good, but this building is really old and smelly. 4. The hostel is on 2nd floor. The private rooms are on 3rd floor. There os no lift. 5. Location is good. All fancy places are nearby. 6. Mohammed is a good receptionist. Tue AC and other room equipment were working fine.
I honestly think with little tweaks this could be a great hostel. The surrounding of the hostel is fairly green and felt safe. The bed was too short for me as usual in India but it didn't hurt like it sometimes does and the blankets were long enough which was one of my highlights. The vibe was relaxed and cozy and they could accommodate me when I arrived a day early. Unfortunately they discontinued the cooked breakfast which was why I decided to choose this place over others. So now only the cockroach stayed together with one plate of fruit, some untoasted white bread for PB&J sandwiches and two types of unhealthy cereal. The tea is indeed delicious though.
Had a pleasant stay at Locomo express like always. Whenever I plan to visit Mumbai, I prefer staying at locomo express only because of following reasons: 1. Stay at property till 10 pm even after checkout: if your flight is in late evening or late night then without any hassle you can stay and relax at the property 2. Supportive staff 3. Easy accessibility to fancy restaurants etc. Would highly recommend locomo express.
Mouldy damp private rooms. Our experience at Locomo in February was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, the receptionist offered to show us the room before confirming. We noticed damp and mould on the walls but, exhausted from travel, we agreed to take it. However, after checking in we noticed that the mould was far worse than we previously thought, especially across the walls next to the bed including at head height. Given my girlfriend’s asthma, we immediately requested a room change. The second room had the same damp issues, and the third, while slightly better, still had visible mould and wasn’t available for our full stay. We reluctantly accepted it, but agreed with the receptionist that we would check out the following day, reducing the booking from three nights to one. The receptionist understood our concerns and advised us to contact management for a refund for the unused nights. Since then, communication with management has been a nightmare. After multiple emails and WhatsApp messages over months, we’ve received only vague responses like “looking into the case” and no resolution. This lack of accountability and disregard for guest safety (mould is a serious health hazard) is unacceptable. Avoid this hostel if you value your health, cleanliness, and professionalism.
