Whoopers Hostel Kasol, Chojh

We had booked 4 beds in a 6 bed mixed dorm a while ago. Almost a month before our trip date when I called to ask about some facilities, the person insisted upon us paying them the full tariff as an advance payment. Saying, if full amount is not paid, he will cancel the booking. When I asked him, if that's the norm, then why did the hostel management reach out to us as soon as our bookings were made, the person started giving excuses. Later, one person from our group paid the entire amount as advance. On the day we reached Choj (a small village after Kasol), we had anyway expected slightly difficult terrain to walk to the hostel, like it's the case in most mountain stays. However, the last patch to reach the hostel is horrible, with some other house/hostel's drainage water on the way. There is no proper approach to the hostel, the path that we had to use was the space left between the foundation of two houses/buildings. Upon arrival at the hostel, the beds and the dorms were a disappointment. Though the place is marketed as a river side stay, it's not as close to the river as shown in the picture. We had booked a hostel for the kind of vibe most hostels carry, this place turned out to be a disappointment even in this case. Attaching a video that I captured while leaving the place.

Jungle Hostels was my worst hostel experience ever. There was no electricity, whereas every other hostel had, no drinking water, bathrooms were not clean and property manager was also absent. No amenities as well. Booking the hostel itself was problematic as hostelworld was not working and it was not available on whoppers site. Location is ok but the route to the location is not mentioned.

If I could give 0 I would. This place is terrible. Do not go by the photos. The vibe, service, basic courtesy, soap, lock and key for rooms, cameras, everything is missing.

Amazing and peaceful little property, stuck away in the corner. Has great rooms and staff--and the atmosphere is just serene! Only 2.5 kms away from kasol, this place is best for those who are looking to book rooms /hostel in a peaceful place and go out to different places in the day to have their fun and come back to a nice place where you can peacefully chill out for a while before passing out.

This cafe is a fantastic budget-friendly option with breathtaking views and cozy dorms that are well-maintained. The bonfire experience adds to the charm, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. The staff truly stands out for their warmth and hospitality, with Saif doing an exceptional job managing the place—his dedication and professionalism were truly commendable. While the cafe itself doesn’t have an in-house kitchen, ordering food from the adjacent cafe, Nomads, was a seamless and convenient experience. This small detail didn’t detract from the overall amazing stay. Highly recommend this place for its ambiance, service, and unforgettable experience!
