Amazing hostel located in the middle of the forest, but still really close to the center of Auroville! It is super calm and great friendly vibes. The volunteers are super welcoming and specially Adil who took his time to recommend me some places and his always available for doing activities with the guests. I would definitely come back, thank you !! 🙏😃
Very green surrounding and could be quiet (but a lot of constructions and noises at the moment since they open a bar/restaurant too). Far away from everything, so you should came with scooter or bike from town. Didn’t feel welcome. We didn’t get any informations around this area. We could choose our room (even if I booked) and had to pay more than it showed on booking - tricky ;) Mattress is Indian (very hard). Yoga Shala was nice. But they just offer a class once a week - reason why I chose this place but missed that day. People stole my food from the fridge :( so it didn’t fell super save and I locked everything in the small locker afterwards. Hammocks and outdoor area is nice It was clean but also very sandy in the dorm. I was there 3 nights and it didn’t get cleaned
We had a good time and met nice people there, nice social activities in the hostel. The biggest downside were the smelly drains. Also the rooms are connected so the snoring of people in the other rooms can be heard as well.
Great experience and I’ll come back for sure! HostelExp is on the edge of the forest and tries to live by the Auroville principles as much as a hostel can. Centrally located, great vibe, very supportive owners & staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and many activities in the season (if not external activities are easily accessible from here)!
Woww! Is a word to describe the emotions you get to experience at Hostel EXP. It’s situated in the forest part of auroville. The place gives you a raw feeling and brings you closer to nature. Nithish, Amitha and other folks are going to be your guide, a friend and an expert on how to navigate and experience Auroville. Don’t think twice before visiting here!! 100% recommended.
