My volunteering experience at Dormigo, Manali has been nothing short of amazing. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and hands down offers one of the best views I’ve ever seen—waking up to those mountains every day was a joy. What truly made the experience special was the people. The staff is super friendly, welcoming, and always supportive, which instantly makes you feel at home. As a volunteer, I felt respected, trusted, and included rather than just “helping out.” The owners deserve a special mention—they are exceptionally helpful and genuinely caring. Always just a call away, anytime you need support or guidance. That kind of accessibility and warmth makes a huge difference. Overall, Dormigo is not just a place to stay or volunteer—it’s a place to learn, connect, and create memories. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful volunteering experience in the lap of nature.
My experience here was really bad. The staff behavior is rude and unhelpful. They talk very politely at the time of booking, but once you check in, their attitude completely changes. Food service is the worst. I ordered 12 rotis with dal, but they served only 9 and then argued that they had given the full order. Instead of correcting their mistake, they blamed us. No proper water facility, no warm water in freezing weather, and no basic hospitality. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This was a very stressful stay. The road to the hostel becomes very risky during snowfall. My car got stuck and despite repeated requests, the hostel staff didn’t help at all. Other nearby hotels were clearing their roads for guests, but here no effort was made. I had to clean snow myself with my friend and later spend ₹12,000 on laborers to clear the road. The staff had equipment but didn’t use it. Apart from this, electricity issues, poor food quality, and lack of basic facilities made the stay even worse. Very irresponsible management. I regret choosing this hostel. Rooms were not clean, washrooms were poorly maintained, and overall hygiene was very bad. There were frequent power cuts and no backup, which made the stay uncomfortable, especially in cold weather. They don’t even provide drinking water properly. Warm water was also not available despite the freezing temperature. The management is very careless. They promise good service during booking but fail to provide even basic facilities. This place is not worth the money at all.
Stayed in this property and it blew me away! The ambiance was spot‑on, and the customer service was top‑notch — Mr Vaibhav who helped me book the room went above and beyond. The lady at reception was super friendly too. I was there Jan 23, 2026 during a heavy snowfall and the experience was pure magic. Highly recommend this room to anyone — you’ll love it just as I did. ❤️ And it’s super affordable too!! Food was also a highlight – the chicken curry was 🔥, and all the dishes were tasty..
This stay at Dormingo Manali was truly special. The log hut in Old Manali is peaceful, beautiful, and far away from the noise of the main streets. Sitting on the balcony and looking at the view felt unreal, like watching a painting come alive every morning. What made the stay unforgettable were the people. Aman, the host, welcomed me with so much warmth and care that it never felt like a hotel, it felt like home. Always helpful, always smiling, and genuinely thoughtful. The chef was equally amazing, serving comforting, delicious food that added to the overall feeling of being looked after.
It was a really good experience staying at dormigo. We stayed there for almost 2 weeks and Aman was the host and he really treated us very well, giving all the information from best cafe to best view of manali. We had so much fun only because of him and he even showed us few near by places. the service was also good, food was perfect. I would love to visit again ♥️🫶🏻😇
