Woodpacker Backpackers Hostel – Had a really good stay at Woodpacker in Auroville. The place has a very chill, artistic vibe that instantly feels welcoming. They offer hut-style stays as well as AC rooms, so it suits both budget backpackers and people who want a bit more comfort. The huts are simple, cozy, and close to nature, while the AC rooms are clean and comfortable. What really stood out was the beautiful paintings and artwork around the property — it adds a creative and soulful touch to the whole space. The common areas are nice for relaxing, meeting other travelers, or just slowing down. Special mention to Anuj, the owner — super chill, welcoming, and very helpful. Overall, a peaceful and well-maintained backpackers hostel, perfect if you want to experience Auroville’s calm and creative atmosphere. Definitely recommended for solo travelers and backpackers.

Friendly staff, great property and ambience. I love kitchen akka's dosai and her son. Warm and friendly local people running the restaurant, the main supervisor is an amazing individual who has done a great job with the place. Came here for 2 nights and it went upto 5 nights. Enjoyed my stay, good people and place. Highly recommended.

She was promoting for the ID card and asked why he’s submitting the driving license instead of Aadhar, like that, and did you send the screenshot to Anuj like that? Even after showing the actual Paytm transaction. So that’s only why I behaved like that, man. See, you know I’m a cool person. I apologise for what happened. I never say sorry, but I said sorry to her. Still, she asked me to vacate, that’s why I reacted like that. That’s all I wanted to tell you. Then it’s up to you. This happened, Then replied this, Hey revanth Good morning Over reacting its act ...if u feel sorry then its good ....until you realise your mistake. She is doing her job. What she is asked for So its ok .. I m chill Then after a while today (24th Jan)

This place is an absolute health hazard. We booked a Dormitory Room, but were forced into a filthy open hut with 10 beds. The bedding was pathetic and looked like it had never been washed. The hygiene is non-existent. The entire area stinks, and it is completely infested with mosquitoes—if you stand still for a minute, you’re covered in them. To make matters worse, the reception is always empty, and stray dogs bark all night long, making sleep impossible. Do not be fooled by the listing. This place is a scam, it’s unsafe, and it’s beyond revolting. Avoid it at all costs.

It's one of the best place to stay near pondicherry if you want to have the real vibe of pondicherry, And it's close to Auroville. The hospitality and freedom they offer is unmatched. Its more of an experience then a place stay. Had a wonderful time there and a great experience.
