An amazing hostel. I loved everything about this place from the moment I checked in. The views are stunning, the rooms and washrooms are spotlessly clean, and the washrooms even have proper exhaust ventilation. The beds are comfortable and well made, with privacy curtains for each bed. The rooms are well ventilated, have ample lighting, spacious lockers, and a convenient dressing area. What truly made my stay special was the staff. They are incredibly kind, friendly, and always available to help, making you feel welcome throughout your stay. Their hospitality is exceptional. I had originally planned to stay for just one night, but I enjoyed my experience so much that I extended my stay to four days. That alone says a lot about how much I loved this place. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Manali.
I stayed at The Social Stays, Manali for 3 days, and unfortunately, my experience throughout the entire stay was extremely disappointing and far from what was advertised. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.
The biggest issue was the poor management and lack of customer service. Both the owner and the staff were extremely rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. Instead of listening to guests or trying to resolve concerns, they were dismissive and showed no interest in providing good hospitality. Every interaction felt unpleasant, and it was clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority. The same poor attitude and level of service continued throughout all three days of my stay.
The cleanliness of the property was also below expectations. The rooms and common areas were not maintained properly, and the overall hygiene standards were poor. A hostel should at least provide a clean and comfortable environment, but that was unfortunately not the case here.
The facilities did not match the expectations set by the listing. Basic amenities were either poorly maintained or unavailable, making the stay inconvenient. The property lacked proper upkeep, and it felt like maintenance was being ignored.
Another disappointing aspect was the lack of communication and professionalism. Important information was not shared clearly, and whenever questions were asked, the responses were either rude, vague, or delayed. Instead of helping guests, the staff often made the experience even more frustrating.
For the amount charged, I expected much better hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism. Instead, I received poor service, rude behavior, and an uncomfortable stay. After spending 3 days at the property, I can confidently say that the experience remained consistently bad from start to finish.
Overall, this was one of the worst hostel experiences I've had. The rude behavior of both the owner and staff, poor cleanliness, and lack of basic hospitality made the stay completely disappointing. I would definitely not recommend The Social Stays, Manali to anyone. There are many better places in Manali where guests are treated with respect and provided with a much better experience.
Beautiful Property, nice and tidy. The property has beautiful views overlooking the mountains. Their own cafe downstairs with outside seating, the food is decent/ reasonable too. Their staff is really helpful and accommodating.There is a bike rental just 50m walk next to this accommodation which I would suggest to go for if you’re planning to move in-around manali as cars get stuck in traffic for hours. Overall 8.5/10 place.
Stayed here in peak season in the Superior Double Room with Balcony and Valley View. The room was spacious, neat, clean, and looked exactly like the pictures online. The balcony view was excellent. Though we luckily got a corner room with a wider mountain view from the side as well.
The cafe food was good, and there are a couple of dhabas nearby too. Drinking water access was very convenient.
The location works well if you want to stay away from the crowded parts of Manali, but that also means most places require travel or uphill walking. Mall Road is quite far, and even Old Manali market and Manu Temple involve a decent climb. Scooters are available for rent at the hostel itself at the same prices as rental shops. Cabs from the hostel to the mall road are expensive.
Staff was generally helpful, though there was a mix-up with our cab pickup during checkout which delayed us a bit.
The stay also felt slightly expensive for the location. You could find similar options for cheaper closer to the mall road.
Overall, a good option for staying in the Old Manali area.
My experience at The Social Stays was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the outdoor seating area had such a beautiful and relaxing vibe. The party atmosphere was energetic and fun, making the whole experience even more memorable. Everything from the service to the ambiance was perfect. Definitely one of the best places to chill, enjoy good food, and have a great time with friends. Highly recommended!
