The Blue Jay Hostel Rishikesh

We stayed in the Deluxe room which was bright and airy, and very clean. We had some issues with our room initially (some lights and wall sockets not working) but the team were super quick to help and moved us to another room the following day. The customer service was awesome in that regard. Location was also great, within walking distance to everything. Only issue was the wifi which we struggled to get a good connection to to in both rooms. Overall we would recommend this as a great base for exploring Rishikesh!

Good location, very close laxman jhoola. Rooms, baths are cleaned regularly. Best and cheap for solo/group travellers. Everything you expect from a good hostel is there. Common area is also cozy. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Only con is that drinking water is kept only at ground floor, not on other floors.

Worst hotel stay – Avoid this place Stayed for 3 nights and faced multiple issues. There was no hot water in the bathroom despite repeated complaints. When we were not in the hotel, they said a plumber was sent but the problem was never fixed. We were promised a room change but it never happened, and staff falsely claimed the issue was resolved. What made the experience worse was the front desk staff’s attitude. One staff member clearly said, “This is not our problem” and mentioned that he was a new joiner and could not do anything. Other staff members also showed the same behavior. It was very clear that our complaints were not taken seriously at all, and no one took responsibility or followed up properly. Some electrical sockets were not working, staff was rude and unprofessional, and follow-ups were ignored. We were given a towel with a hole, and when asked for a replacement, they said no clean towels were available due to laundry not being done. Overall, very bad service and maintenance. Not recommended at all.

Extremely poor experience. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and showed no concern for guests. There was no hot water available in the room, which is a basic necessity, and complaints were ignored. The hotel lacks proper management and basic hospitality standards. Definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Overall, the stay was okay. Basic needs were met, but cleanliness and bathroom maintenance need improvement.
