I stayed at Shiv Shakti Hostel in Rishikesh and strongly advise others not to book this place. On arrival, the receptionist didn’t even ask for any ID proof. No Aadhaar, no verification, nothing. This is a basic security protocol in any hotel or hostel, and skipping it raises serious safety concerns for guests. There was a water dispenser placed outside the room which remained empty the entire day despite repeated requests to have it filled. The biggest issue, however, was the complete lack of water supply. In the morning, while I was in the middle of a shower with soap in my hair, the water stopped. When we informed the reception, we were told the tank would be filled in 10–15 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, there was still no water. We reminded them again and were told “5 minutes more,” but nothing changed. At that point, I had no option but to leave the hostel and go to another place just to take a bath. I went to MP(hope you understand)Rishikesh ,where the staff, despite me not being a guest, allowed me to use their common washroom without hesitation. The contrast in basic hospitality and guest care was shocking. When I returned and informed the receptionist at Shiv Shakti Hostel that I had to go elsewhere just to bathe, his response was: “Achhi baat hai.” That level of indifference says everything about how this place is run. A hostel that cannot ensure water supply, ignores repeated requests, and shows this kind of attitude toward guests is not worth staying at.
I spent three days with my friend and I can’t recommend this place enough! i wanted to take a break from the dust and noise in Tapovan and it was the best decision after our retreat it is surrounded by beautiful nature and a nice river to go for a dip! The food was delicious and the meditation was also really nice :) The cottages are much nicer than the rooms but also a bit more pricey.
Recently me and my friends booked doom at shiv shakti hostel . Our stay was very very good specially rajat bhaiya behaviour was very humble polite and cheerful. Service was good enough and worth of the prices we pay if anyone want to book a hostel you can consider it. Overall a soothing and comfortable experience.
I was shocked by the state of this room. There is severe water damage and seepage on the walls, with paint and plaster peeling off directly around the electrical switches and light fixtures. This is a massive safety hazard. The room felt damp, smelled musty, and it is clear that management has completely neglected basic maintenance. Avoid this place if you value your safety and health.
Bas experience! Room was not cleaned and washroom was in a total mess and bad condition. The bedsheet and sofa has stains and burnt marks on it. Flush was not working properly. As a traveller one thing which makes your stay peaceful is neat and clean room and in this property it was COMPLETELY OPPOSITE. Also there was a bad smell coming in the washroom continuously. NOT AT ALL RECOMMENDED!
