This hostel is an excellent choice, especially for first-time hostel travelers. Despite arriving early at 9:00 AM well before the 12:30 PM check-in the team welcomed us warmly and invited us to relax in their café. The food is genuinely good and very affordable.
The staff is consistently friendly, professional, and helpful. The rooms come with large cabinet-style locker spacious enough for two suitcases and a bag. Just remember to carry your own lock, or purchase one on-site for ₹50. Common washrooms are clean and functional; guests should bring their own toiletries.
Overall, the stay exceeded expectations. The rooms and beds were clean, the atmosphere was great, and the service was exceptional. Special thanks to Yash and his team for their support, and to Bheem as well, who truly goes above and beyond for everything you’ll require

My first time staying in any hostel. Solo travelers should use hostel as you meet many people there. I feel like rooms are slightly small and 2 bathrooms catering for atleast 20-30 people is bit less. I think it's all the same in any hostel. Hosts and caretakers all are very lovely people. Location wise it's a great place. Overall a great stay. They let you stay at the roof cafe till 6pm even after checking out. Surely will visit again.
The hostel itself is ok and the bathroom was clean all the time.
But i saw them changing the beds and they do not change the blankets they just fold it nicely and put them back on the beds. The pillow itself should be washed also. The pillowcase was clean/white and the bed sheets as well but had a little stain and i found a long black hair which was obviously not mine.
The hostel is quite social with the rooftop and small restaurant but also very expensive with 2300rs for two nights in a 14 bed dorm, i would say. I found a really nice guesthouse just five walking minutes away and they charged me only 1000rs per night for a nice room and bathroom on my own.
I stayed in hostel 2 nights, my experience was good! Hard to find stays sometimes fully booked so best to book prior and plan accordingly, walkable distance from Assi Ghat so easily can attend morning aarti and explore near by places!
They have cafe/common area on the top floor where you can order anything whole day!
Only issue is if you get allocated the top bed, it’s tough to climb multiple times to get something!
I recently stayed at Moustache Hostel Varanasi, and I must say it was one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. The atmosphere of the hostel was vibrant, friendly, and very welcoming from the moment I arrived. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a very cozy vibe that made me feel comfortable right away thank you so much moustache team.
One of the highlights of my stay was the staff, especially Sunil, who went above and beyond to help me in every possible way. He was always available whenever I needed assistance, whether it was guiding me about the local attractions, helping with transportation, or simply ensuring I felt at home. His friendly attitude, patience, and genuine care for the guests really stood out. It is rare to meet someone who is not only professional but also so kind and approachable.
The hostel itself had everything a traveler could ask for – clean dorms and private rooms, comfortable beds, and a common area where people from different countries and cultures could connect. The rooftop view was beautiful, giving a peaceful space to relax after exploring the busy streets of Varanasi. The location of the hostel was also very convenient, close to major attractions, ghats, and local food spots.
