I had the best time at Molly's - the location, the people, the vibe - 100/10. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and tidy. The staff and volunteers who work here are all amazing and ensure to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You will leave with your heart full and a lot of wonderful wholesome memories. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Varkala :)
Had a fantastic experience at Molly's Hostel! From check-in to checkout, the entire stay was comfortable and smooth. We took the quad room for 2 days and were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room and amenities offered, despite being a budget hostel. The room was very comfortable, having two seperate queen size beds along with AC, and a clean fully functional bathroom. Plenty of towels and dentistry kits were provided along with complementary water. The staff were superb and always helpful in accomodating our requests. The small restaurant in house was also tasty, despite the considerable wait for the food. Public areas were well maintained and had nice lighting. Parking is available for cars and bikes.
Location is perfect too as it is within walking distance of Aaliyirakkam beach and in a quiet and peaceful area of Varkala.
For the price we paid, we definitely received a product and service worth far more! Kudos to the team at Molly's!
I planned to stay for three days and ended up staying a full week — and honestly, I could have stayed longer. Molly’s Hostel has a special kind of magic.
From the very first moment, you feel welcomed. Strangers quickly become acquaintances, and before you know it, friends. Conversations flow easily, connections feel genuine, and there is a beautiful balance between social energy and peaceful calm.
The atmosphere is warm, open, and relaxed, with the sound of the ocean always nearby. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and days unfold naturally.
I call it the Molly Effect: you arrive with plans, and you leave with a full heart.

Stayed at this hostel and absolutely loved it. The rooms were super aesthetic and cozy, the ambience was warm and welcoming, and the service was genuinely great. The food was amazing, and the in-house café was such a vibe. The cute pet dogs, games, and garden made the place feel extra wholesome. A special mention to the manager for helping us with rentals and suggesting great places, making sure we experienced the local culture and cuisine properly. It truly felt like a home away from home. Would 100% come back again 🐾✨
I had an amazing stay and lovely time at Molly's hostel, Varkala. The location of the hostel is just right, walkable from the south cliff beach and very close by to major cafes there. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and comfortable, a little more items like racks and strings or a basic table in the dorms would be nice. Lockers were present. The cafe in the hostel is a very cosy and serves good food. The juices and shakes are the best. I met some solo travellers at the breakfast table and ended up having some great adventures during the trip, we are all good friends now. The ambiance of the entire property is beautiful and just hanging around nature would be an ideal first day here. Most of all, Molly's team were extremely cordial and hospitable...friendly and inclusive. Shout out to Kunal, Jayanth, Vikram and Vishnu for making my solo trip a wonderful memory and the New year party special. Thank you Molly's..will come back soon 💕
