We had an amazing experience during our recent stay at Hostel Mantra Udaipur in a Lakeside Room. The vibes here are super friendly, warm, and welcoming — a home away from home, literally. It is at the perfect location: close to the main market and popular spots, and yet behind a quiet lane that has no traffic or noise, hence ideal for a peaceful stay. The rooftop restaurant is a must mention-it gives incredible views of Lake Pichola, great and yummy food, with a chill and cozy atmosphere. Free chai during sunset, which we missed as we were out most of the evening's, and karaoke nights sounded fun as well! We had Masala Omelet, Mushroom Omelette, and Ginger chai; it was really good! The cleanliness was good, and the luggage storage facility was really convenient for us after checkout. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a comfortable stay — always ready to help. Shoutout to Dwisha, Aashish and Bhushan - hope you guys enjoyed the Bombay Pav 😄🍞 Excellent value for money. Well-suited to couples and lone travelers. Highly recommended!
Hostel Mantra was the best decision I made for my first solo trip and my first-ever hostel stay. It turned out even better than I imagined! The staff is extremely sweet, the vibe is warm and the fellow travellers were absolutely lovely. This experience has truly motivated me to travel more. Highly recommend!
After bouncing around more hostels than I can count, Mantra still stands out as something genuinely special. The rooftop alone is worth the stay, but it’s also the perfect spot to lounge with new friends or just recharge. The place is designed for connection: daily activities if you’re feeling social, a super comfortable indoor common area when you want something quieter, and a cafe that offers both great coffee and a decent food menu. Everything is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring. The staff? Genuinely lovely, polite, helpful and a lot of fun to be around. But what really makes Mantra different is the crowd it attracts: open-minded, relaxed, genuinely friendly people who are up for a chat on the rooftop or a spontaneous day trip. It’s rare to find a place where the atmosphere feels this easy. I’d come back in a heartbeat and I’m already recommending it to everyone else on the road.
LOVED it from the bottom of my heart! They were building the stage when I was there Everything in this hostel was perfect. Rooms are clean. Staff comes with a vibe. Location comes with a top notch sexy view. Food is slightly expensive but is tasty. Ramen Highly recommended. Dwisha, Suyesha and the owner Ashish are super friendly and are the strongest VIBE BOMBS of Hostel Mantra. Kudos!
After a year of traveling and staying in countless hostels, I can confidently say Mantra is easily one of, if not the best out there. If you’re looking for an incredible sunset view, the rooftop is unbeatable. Not to mention, an awesome space for hanging out in the day and evening. There are consistent organized activities, an indoor common room with cozy seating and open space, clean and comfortable facilities, a cafe with tons of delicious food options, the perfect location, and absolute top notch helpful and caring staff. I truly cannot stress enough how amazing this hostel is!! I will absolutely be back.
