Felt Like Home — My First Time in Mumbai☺️ If you’re visiting Mumbai and want more than just a place to sleep, Hostel Mantra is where you need to be. My stay here was nothing short of magical. The hostel is perfectly located near some beautiful beaches — a quieter, more soulful side of Mumbai that instantly made me fall in love with the city. What makes this place truly special is the culture it fosters. One of the fellow travellers cooked a delicious meal for all of us — that kind of warmth and generosity just sets the tone for everything. We had cozy movie screenings in the drawing room, and when the night got livelier, the rooftop terrace turned into the perfect party spot with the best energy you could ask for. Late-night conversations, laughs, gossip, and the kind of talks that only happen when you’re surrounded by the right people — Hostel Mantra had it all. A massive shoutout to the hosts Pradeep, Nidhi, and Faiz — you three are the heart and soul of this place. They’re warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, creating an environment where every guest feels welcomed from the moment they walk in. It’s rare to find hosts who go beyond hospitality and make you feel truly at home. For someone experiencing Mumbai for the first time, Hostel Mantra didn’t just give me a comfortable stay — it gave me a home. I came as a traveller and left with stories, new friendships, and a deep love for this city.
Hostel Mantra is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in Mumbai! The place is super clean, well-maintained, and has a very chill, homely vibe. The staff are extremely friendly and always ready to help with local tips or anything you need. The common areas are cozy and make it really easy to meet fellow travelers from all over the world. The location is also great — peaceful yet well-connected to the city, with plenty of food options nearby. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are neat, and the atmosphere makes you feel safe and welcome. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, fun, and comfortable stay in Mumbai, Hostel Mantra is definitely the place. Highly recommend!
Hostel Mantra wasn’t just a place where I stayed in Mumbai… it became a place where I belonged. From the very first day, it felt warm, safe, and alive like a little world of its own. The vibe here is beautiful✨ travelers from everywhere, stories in every corner, laughter in the common spaces, and that quiet comfort of knowing you’re never really alone here. And the true heart of this place is the people especially “Nidhi”. Her protective care, cheerful madness, and endless warmth make everyone feel seen and safe. She looks out for you like family, yet fills the space with so much laughter and light that it never feels heavy. You don’t just check in here… Nidhi makes sure you feel held. Special mention to the entire Hostel Mantra team as well. every smile, every small help, every kind gesture adds up to something really rare. I’m leaving with memories, friendships, inside jokes, and that soft ache you only get when a place means something to you. If you’re looking for more than just a bed, if you’re looking for warmth, connection, and a little magic, Hostel Mantra is it 🤍 I came here as a traveler. I’m leaving feeling like family. 🌙✨
Good hostel if you're looking for a low budget place to stay with friendly staff and mixed crowd. The location itself is not bad, we were four girls, and it pretty safe to walk even around 3 am. The cleanliness is okay-ish but stay was somewhat cosy and pretty, so altogether it was a fun experience.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Review: Hostel Mantra, Mumbai Wouldn’t recommend this place, honestly. The biggest issue is cleanliness. The rooms didn’t feel properly cleaned, bathrooms were hit or miss, and the overall vibe was just… uncomfortable. For a hostel, you expect basic hygiene at the very least, and that wasn’t consistent here. The photos online make it look way better than it actually is. In reality, the rooms feel cramped and worn out, and the common areas aren’t inviting at all. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to hang out or relax after a long day in Mumbai. Noise is another problem. Between people coming in late, thin walls, and zero enforcement of quiet hours, getting decent sleep was a struggle. If you’re a light sleeper, forget it. Staff were mostly indifferent. Not rude, but not helpful either — more like they were just there to get through the day. Any issues felt like an inconvenience to them rather than something they wanted to fix. Mumbai is intense enough as it is. Your accommodation shouldn’t add to the stress, but this one definitely did. For the price, you can find much better hostels in the city. Would not stay here again.
