The staff were kind and friendly, providing helpful information about the local tourist attractions and other recommendations. The rooftop has sofas and tables, making it a perfect spot to relax or enjoy the city view. The location is excellent, with the city center easily accessible on foot. There is also a water dispenser available for guests but only on 1st and 4th floor that is a problem. I stayed in a 6-bed dormitory, which was equipped with a shower, and a toilet in the room, along with plenty of natural light. The entire facility was clean and well-maintained, But the locker facility is not available in dormitory.
Decent stay, but some downsides The room was spacious and nicely designed, with a cozy little seating area by the window. However, it felt quite outdated, and the pictures online seem to be from a few years ago. The staff was friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. One major downside was the noise—one night was incredibly loud, and since the walls were very thin, getting a good night’s sleep was nearly impossible. The breakfast was quite basic, with relatively few options, especially considering it’s for an entire hostel. On the bright side, the location is great! It’s central and makes exploring the city very easy. Overall, an okay stay, but there are definitely areas for improvement.
This was my first time facing this issue at a hostel. We were 4 people in an 8-bed dorm, but the other group had already taken all the lower bunks, so we had to use the upper ones. Other hostels manage this better with fairer bed allocation. The owner should identify this issue and make a rule to assign 2 full bunk beds (top and bottom) per group to ensure comfort and fairness.
I had a very disappointing experience at The Madpackers (Udaipur ) The property is poorly maintained — from the moment you enter, you can tell that cleanliness is not a priority. The bedsheets and blankets were clearly not fresh or clean, and the hygiene level of the dorms was quite low. The AC service is restricted to specific hours, which makes no sense, especially during the daytime when it’s needed the most. With a 10-bed dorm, there was only one fan for the entire room — totally inadequate and uncomfortable. The most frustrating part of the stay was dealing with the host, Apoorva. She was extremely badtameez and lacked basic hospitality etiquette. It felt like guests were being tolerated rather than welcomed.
Extremely Disappointed – Would Never Recommend Madpackers Udaipur Our recent stay at Madpackers Udaipur was a huge letdown. The biggest issue was cleanliness — the dorm bedsheets were visibly dirty and had hair all over. We had to ask the staff to change them, which is basic hygiene one expects to be taken care of without reminders. In a 10-bed dorm, there was just ONE working fan, and to make things worse, AC usage was restricted to specific hours. Even after requesting them to turn it on due to the heat, the manager Apoorva behaved arrogantly and was downright rude. Her attitude made it seem like they were offering free shelter instead of paid service — no basic courtesy, no professionalism. Overall, it felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Definitely would not recommend Madpackers to anyone. If you're looking for a hostel in Udaipur, GoStops is any day a better and more respectful option.
