I came to Amritsar on a whim and ended up staying in Madpackers for 20 days.
The people are great and really helpful.
The staff (Samar, Sushil and night manager) are really respectful, understanding and very cooperative.
The cafe, common area and terrace are amazing.
And the food cooked by Raghav bhai is just perfect.
The location is amazing, so close to Golden temple and all other major places you want to visit.
And the vibe is so homely, you'll definitely want to extend your stay.
Ended up having a great time and making some really good friends and some really nice memories here!!!
I had a wonderful experience at Madpackers Amritsar. The hostel has a great vibe, very clean rooms, and a friendly atmosphere that instantly makes you feel comfortable.
A special mention to Vicky — he was extremely helpful, polite, and welcoming throughout my stay. From giving local recommendations to ensuring everything was smooth and comfortable, his support truly made a difference. He goes out of his way to help guests and deserves appreciation for his excellent hospitality.
Highly recommend Madpackers Amritsar for anyone visiting the city. I would definitely stay here again!
The hostel and its staff were very accommodating. I traveled here after sustaining an injury, and the staff helped to get me well-situated. The chef cooked awesome meals plus gave good advice about the area.
Vicky the driver/guide took several others and I on a tour to the border ceremony. He is an exemplary guide with a good sense of humor, in-depth knowledge about Punjabi history and culture, and goes above and beyond to make sure travelers are well-taken care of.
What a fantastic experience for both my wife and myself over the 4 nights that we stayed here, a great base to explore Amritsar and meet a great bunch of people in the process. The staff are outstanding in the hostel, the cooked food is delicious.....just be patient......it will arrive and worth the wait. The Wagah border visit with Vicky is a must......he is absolutely hilarious.....brilliant character with great knowledge. Thank you Madpackers for a fun packed stay. Doug & Paula.
I stayed here for a couple of nights and had a lovely stay. The team were always happy to help with anything and made sure my stay was comfortable. The rooftop is spacious and a nice way to escape the busy streets below.
Vicky, a local driver who helps out there, was incredibly gracious and welcoming, and was a great guide around the city. He also helped me to catch a quick bus when my Volvo was cancelled.
