We stayed at this hotel recently and had a wonderful experience! The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable — exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay. The service was excellent; the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The location is great — easy to reach nearby attractions, food places, and transport options. We also loved the refreshing area (relaxation spot) — it was perfect for unwinding after a long day. Overall, everything was top-notch — great value for money. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family
It’s the nicest hostel I’ve been to yet in India. The beds are comfy and there are good curtains and lockers. The location is unbeatable - just an 8 min walk to the golden temple. However, the best part of the hostel was Vikki and his rickshaw. He runs a tour to the border every day. It was so much fun, and he is the nicest guy!
It is really nice place and the location is amazing. Only around 8-10 min walk to the main attraction of the golden temple. For the price, I think this place is really worth it. I also recommend their "tour" to the Wagha border. The tuk tuk driver called Vicky that drove our group, was amazing. He always had a joke ready.
I stayed at Madpackers Amritsar for four nights in November 2025. The whole place has a warm, social, trusting vibe — the kind where nothing feels like too much trouble. The staff were genuinely friendly, and there were no pushy sales pitches. The location is excellent for walking to the Golden Temple and the old town backstreets. I had a private room with its own bathroom, and it was exactly as expected: clean, comfortable and as described. The fan worked well, and since it wasn’t hot enough for full AC, I mostly used the fan and the dehumidifier setting, since I didn’t open the windows due to the Amritsar dust in the air (nothing to do with Madpackers). The shower took a bit of fiddling to get the temperature right, and the water pressure was on the slow side, but it was still perfectly usable. The communal areas had a great social feel, and I met some lovely people there. The décor is looking a bit worn in spots and could use some TLC, but it didn’t affect the experience at all. I also booked the Wagah Border trip through them and ended up going with a group from the hostel, which made it a fun outing. We all ended up going for dinner afterwards. They organised my airport taxi too, which made things easy. Overall, it’s a comfortable, friendly place with a genuinely good atmosphere. I’d happily stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation.
Had an amazing time here. All staff were friendly, kind and made our time in Amritsar super special. The trip to the border was really interesting and easy to book onto.Rahjav offer free Punjabi food cooking lessons which were amazing, and he took us on a food tour of the city which we also loved. The beds were comfortable and rooms clean, food in the cafe was delicious, and the social spaces were great. We were able to easily extend our booking and the location is great, short walk to golden temple and town centre. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay!
