I had an amazing stay at Joey’s Hostel, Agra for 1 day, and it turned out to be an experience I’ll always remember. From the moment I arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully managed.
A huge shoutout to Rajeev, who was absolutely incredible and went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. He helped us with several things that made our trip experience really, really good. One of the best parts was that he introduced us to a group of people who later became really good friends—something that made the stay even more memorable.
Rajeev also arranged a biryani cooking session, where we learned how to make biryani and later enjoyed eating it together. It was such a fun and unique experience. After that, he organized a Taj Mahal tour, during which he shared interesting information and insights about the place and its history, making the visit even more meaningful.
Once we returned to the hostel, Rajeev made sure we had everything we needed in our room for a comfortable stay. In the evening, he arranged a bonfire on the rooftop, where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. The food was absolutely great, and the overall vibe was just perfect.
Another big plus point is the location—the hostel is very close to the Taj Mahal and within walking distance. You can even see the Taj Mahal from the rooftop restaurant while enjoying a cup of coffee, which is simply magical.
Overall, our stay was nothing short of a memory worth keeping. All thanks to Rajeev and the management of Joey’s Hostel, who genuinely care about their guests and the experience they have. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Agra and would love to stay here again.
Stayed at Joey’s Hostel for 2 nights and had a really great experience.
Booked the mini loft room (bunk-bed style) — surprisingly cozy and thoughtfully designed. The room was clean, quiet, and very peaceful — slept really well. Warm lighting and the compact layout make smart use of space.
Location is a big win — barely a 4-minute walk to the Taj Mahal East Gate. The rooftop Hippie Café is easily one of the best spots to relax and unwind with the Taj right in front of your eyes.
Breakfast was good too, especially the coffee. They also organise nice free activities like afternoon sunset trips and local snack tastings, and there’s unlimited chai available on the rooftop throughout the day — such a lovely touch. The terrace feels calm and quiet compared to the busy street below.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the whole place has a safe, relaxed backpacker vibe.
⚠️ Only thing to note: there is no lift and the stairs are quite steep, so it can be a bit of a climb with heavy luggage. The staff did help us with the bags, though.
Would happily stay here again.
Nice hostel, would definitely recommend, staff is really helpful and friendly. Location is great, near the Taj Mahal with a fun rooftop with beautiful view of Taj Mahal where people hang out. Also nice sunset walking tours, they help arranging stuff. The vibes are good, rooms are fine not per se estatic but the vibes make broadly up for this. Special thanks to Rajeev, he has been so helpful and took great care of us!
As a female solo traveller from Brazil, I can say that this is the best, most friendly, safe hostel I stayed in India. The staff is great; they are always ready to help you and they speak good English! The rooftop view with the restaurant is amazing. The single bedroom I got was incredible. I loved all the people I met there. I even extended my journey in one more day. I definitely recommend! Good for backpackers and solo travellers.
stayed at Joey's Hostel when I visited the Taj Mahal, and it was an amazing experience! The hostel is just 150 meters from the Taj Mahal, which makes it super convenient.
It's budget-friendly, clean, and comfortable. The best part is the rooftop view - the top view of the Taj Mahal from the hostel is absolutely fabulous and incredible. Early morning view from the terrace has no words... just breathtaking!
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Agra. Definitely worth staying here!
