My stay at this hostel was an amazing experience. I booked it for just one day, but I ended up staying for more than a week because of the wonderful staff and their family-like nature.
If you are visiting Agra, I highly recommend staying here, especially for the stunning Taj Mahal view. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced, but for me, the best part was the café. I spent most of my days there, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the Taj Mahal.
The social atmosphere is great. I met many travelers from different countries, and it was easy to make friends. The hostel organizes fun activities like karaoke nights and other events that keep everyone engaged and connected.
A big thank you to all the staff for making my stay so memorable. Their friendliness and hospitality made this place feel like a second home. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would love to visit again..
Visited July of 2026 and easily the vibe is great, we had karaoke night when I arrived. They also offer unlimited dinner and breakfast buffet. 5 mins Walking distance EastGate to Taj Mahal. The people who work in the hostel (specifically KK) had nothing but great people in India. ❤️🇮🇳 very helpful.
No doubt the location is extremely good but the food is not that great. If u want to visit taj mahal go early in the morning at 6 am.. less crowd and amazing view. Its 2 minutes walkable distance from the hostel.
I stayed at Joey’s Hostel, Agra for one night on 20th June and it was honestly one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had.
About the Property
Joey’s has such a cozy, backpacker-friendly vibe. The hostel is clean, colorful, and well-kept. Dorms are comfortable with good beds, individual lockers, and charging points. The common lounge and rooftop area are perfect for hanging out and meeting other travelers. Even though it’s right in Agra city, the place feels calm and well-managed.
Current Facilities
Facilities are great for solo travelers and groups. You get free WiFi, clean washrooms, 24x7 water, and access to the common kitchen/lounge. The best part is their daily dinner and gig option for just ₹300. You get a home-cooked dinner + live music/performance in the evening. For ₹300 it’s an amazing deal and it makes you feel part of a community instead of just staying for a night.
Staff Behaviour
The staff were super friendly and helpful. They guided us on Taj Mahal timings, best local food, and how to get around safely. Check-in was smooth and they were always available if we needed anything.
Safety
I stayed solo with 3 others in a dorm and it felt really safe. There’s CCTV, proper security, and the staff keeps an eye on everything. As a solo traveler I never felt uncomfortable coming back in the evening.
Location & Vibe
Taj Mahal is just a 10 min walkable distance from Joey’s Hostel. You can walk to one of the 7 wonders which saves so much time and money.
The nearby area is calm and peaceful and worthy to have a little walk through it in the evenings. You’ll find cafes, shops, and autos easily. At night, sitting in the common area with other travelers and music made the stay really memorable.
Overall, Joey’s Hostel is perfect if you want safety, good food, great company, and a budget stay right next to the Taj. Would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to solo travelers and friends visiting Agra.
Nice hostel, would definitely recommend, staff is really helpful and friendly. Location is great, near the Taj Mahal with a fun rooftop with beautiful view of Taj Mahal where people hang out. Also nice sunset walking tours, they help arranging stuff. The vibes are good, rooms are fine not per se estatic but the vibes make broadly up for this. Special thanks to Rajeev, he has been so helpful and took great care of us!
