I stayed at Half Orange with two friends for 3 days and 4 nights. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing in several aspects. The biggest issue was the bathroom light in our room. On the very first day, the bathroom light stopped working. We immediately informed the staff and requested them to fix it. Although they repeatedly assured us that it would be repaired soon, nothing was done throughout our entire stay. We reminded them multiple times over the next few days, but each time we received only promises and excuses. As a result, we had to use the bathroom in complete darkness and rely on our mobile phone flashlights until the day we checked out. This was extremely inconvenient and showed a lack of attention to a basic maintenance issue. Another concern was the attitude and behavior of some staff members. We often felt as though we were being treated with suspicion rather than as paying guests. The staff constantly monitored what we were carrying into the property and did not allow outside food or drinks. On one occasion, we ordered hot coffee in the morning but were served cold coffee and charged a relatively high price for it. Even after making a UPI payment, the staff insisted on seeing our phone, taking a photo of the transaction, and repeatedly asking for payment proof, which made us feel uncomfortable and as though we were not trusted. We also experienced an issue with the swimming pool. When we entered the pool, there were large amounts of white chemical-like particles floating throughout the water. The substance began sticking to our bodies, forcing us to leave the pool immediately and wash it off. We reported the issue to the staff, and it was eventually addressed, but it raised concerns about pool maintenance and guest safety. Had it been darker or during the night, many guests may not have noticed the problem before entering the water. Additionally, the property felt much smaller than it appeared in the photos shown on booking platforms. The actual experience did not match the impression created by the promotional images. We also noticed dog droppings in some areas of the property, likely from the staff's pet dog, which affected the cleanliness of the premises. The location is decent, but overall, the lack of maintenance, poor response to guest concerns, and the way guests are treated made our stay less enjoyable than expected. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves the experience for future visitors.
Half Orange Hostel in Vagator was the perfect match for our group of eight, offering a laid-back, community-driven space where we could completely unwind together. Booking out an entire eight-bed dorm gave us our own private sanctuary, complete with crisp air conditioning, large individual lockers, and thick privacy curtains that let everyone rest on their own schedule.We loved the hostel's balanced energy; while it has a great social buzz, it never felt overwhelming for a group looking to just chill. We spent our afternoons lounging by the clean outdoor pool, playing casual rounds of table tennis in the game zone, and nursing iced coffees at the in-house café. The relaxed, welcoming attitude of the volunteers and staff fit our vibe perfectly, and they gave us excellent recommendations for quiet local spots and scooter rentals.The location on Ozran Beach Road made it effortless for our large group to stroll down to the beach or find a nearby café without any logistical stress. It gave us the exact mix of group bonding, easy beach access, and a peaceful atmosphere that we were looking for.
We stayed here for just a day, but the experience was truly amazing. The place has beautiful, clean pools and a quirky, vibrant décor that adds so much charm. The host and staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, they not only welcomed us with great hospitality but also suggested fantastic party spots, making our stay even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere had such a lively and fun crowd. Overall, a wonderful stay that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place with amazing vibes!
