Green Olive Lucknow Hostel

An absolute gem right in the heart of Hazratganj! Green Olive Hostel is easily one of the best places to stay in Lucknow, especially for backpackers and solo travelers. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the metro station and surrounded by iconic food joints and cafes. The vibe is cozy, clean, and very welcoming. A special shoutout to the host and staff for their incredible hospitality—they made me feel completely at home. Great amenities, comfortable beds, and a fantastic common area to meet fellow travelers. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for 3 days and had a great experience. The hostel has a nice vibe, clean dorms, good privacy curtains, and all the basic amenities you need. The location is a big plus—right in Hazratganj, so everything is easily accessible. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a comfortable and value-for-money place to stay in Lucknow. Would definitely stay here again.

GoStays Green Olive (formerly Green Olive) is one of the best hostel properties in Lucknow. It is located in Hazratganj, the heart of the city, and offers easy access to both the monuments and eateries of Old Lucknow as well as newer areas such as Gomti Nagar and Shaheed Path. The property is easily accessible by metro via Gate 4 of Hazratganj Metro Station (near The Hazelnut Factory), which is just 50 metres from the entrance. One can easily walk to popular places like Dastarkhwan, Naushijaan, Sharma Chai, Shukla Chaat, Jain Chaat, Bajpai Kachori, Royal Cafe, Moti Mahal, Roastery Coffee House, and Le Press. Attractions and eateries in Old Lucknow, such as Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, Tunday Kababi, Mubeen's, and Rahim's, are also easily accessible by auto-rickshaws, cabs, and shared e-rickshaws. During my stay, only one dormitory with 10 bunk beds was operational. However, renovation work was underway on another dormitory with 8 or 10 bunk beds (I can't recall the exact number). A private room with an attached bathroom was also being given its final touches. The dormitory room I stayed in was spacious enough to accommodate five twin bunk beds (10 beds in total). It was equipped with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and an attached bathroom. Every bed had an adjustable reading lamp and a personal fan. To ensure privacy, each bed was fitted with curtains, similar to those in Indian Railways' AC 2-tier coaches. The bedsheets and pillow covers were clean. There was storage space beneath every bed for luggage and other belongings, and a small lock and key were provided for security. The owner and host, Swati, is friendly yet professional. She is always willing to assist and makes every effort to resolve any issues. The supporting staff is also courteous and helpful. PRO TIP: Google Maps does not show the direct access from Gate 4 of Hazratganj Metro Station to the property. Instead, it suggests approaching the property only from the rear via Naval Kishore Road. However, the property can also be accessed directly from Mahatma Gandhi Marg through Metro Gate 4, which is the shorter and more convenient route.

Stayed here for 2 days and had a really good experience. The place was spotless, and the dorm beds were very comfortable. A special thanks to Swati, who came out at around 3 AM to guide me at the gate it was a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. The location is right in the heart of Hazratganj, with everything easily accessible, and the metro station is just a few meters away. Highly recommended!

Green Olive Hostel in Hazratganj is a perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Lucknow. The hostel is clean, safe, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds. Its location is unbeatable—right at the heart of Hazratganj, just a short walk from the metro station, and surrounded by popular eateries and hangout spots. Loved the convenience and overall vibe of the place. The owner, Swati is extremely friendly and helpful and truly made our stay more happening. She suggested great places to explore and even accompanied us during our stay, which made the experience feel very personal and special. We stayed for around 6 days, and honestly, it was one of the best hostel stays I’ve had. Highly recommended!
