I stayed at Devi Music Ashram for two weeks and absolutely loved my time there. It felt so homey from the moment I arrived. The space is run by women, and there’s a soft, comforting, nurturing energy throughout the entire ashram. I felt safe, peaceful, and truly held the whole time. My room was on the top floor with a lovely view, and the location is perfect: quiet and serene, yet still close to everything in town and only a short walk to the Ganga. It really offers the best of both worlds. The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. One of the men even carried my luggage down the road to my taxi when I checked out, which meant so much after a long trip. Every interaction was kind, supportive, and genuine. I had an amazing experience here and would highly recommend Devi Music Ashram to anyone looking for a peaceful, heart-centered place to stay in Tapovan.

The Google review parameters are irrelevant for this place. This place isn't an usual one that you expect from regular accommodations. This place reflects commune living. Your room is going to be simple, minimal yet enough, filled with lots of positive energies and lively and creative vibes. If you're someone who values experience more than fanciness, then this is the place for you. The places has a common library full with books on spirituality and philosophy. It also hosts many musical events and philosophical talks. I enjoyed my short stay at the place. 🤩

I only came for the singing classes and private harmonium classes. Neeti has an abundance of knowledge regarding classical Indian music and her classes were a joy to take! Her voice is rich and angelic... An inspirational teacher!

Devi Ashram feels like home — super peaceful with the nicest people around. The night concerts are magical and so calming. Loved the music classes, both vocal and instrumental. The food is homely and the whole vibe is just warm and welcoming. Definitely a place to unwind and concert.

Really enjoyed my stay here and sad to leave. I stayed in a private double room and it’s so spacious and bright. I could’ve spent all day there, reading and practicing yoga. The library is full of brilliant books, there’s access to a fridge and downstairs kitchen. This is a beautiful family-run place with small classical Indian music concerts happening most evenings. And since it’s off the main street, it’s relatively peaceful! As a single female solo traveller I felt very safe here :)
