If you're on a budget but still want a lakefront view along with rich heritage and culture, this is the perfect place. It gave me an incredible experience, truly felt at home. The highlight, beyond the comfortable stay, was the warm, hospitable hosts. Incredibly friendly and always willing to help, even beyond their duties like from assisting with my itinerary to offering local tips. The authentic food was absolutely delicious and added to the overall charm. Staying here was completely worth it, and I can't wait to return
The location is good, and both the balcony and terrace are nice. However, several things clearly need renovation. The interior looks dull and dusty. The bathroom is unhygienic and dirty, and the bathtub has a strong unpleasant smell. The bed mattress is uncomfortable, and the lights are dim, with some not working at all. I would only recommend the lake-facing room if the price is under ₹1000.
doesn't look anything like the photos. The place is too small, with congested rooms, and it doesn't have any almirahs. The washrooms are cramped and unhygienic. The owners are completely unprofessional and do not know how to deal with customers. I would give a negative rating if that were an option.
I want to share this so other travellers — especially women — don’t go through what my friends and I experienced here. We were harassed by the owner and his wife, and this place is absolutely unsafe. We reached after 18 hours of travel, already having paid the advance and then the remaining amount during check-in. But the room looked nothing like the photos. It was extremely small, unhygienic, and the bathroom was so dirty that now I understand why they never show any bathroom pictures online. When we politely said we didn’t like the room and asked if there was any solution, the owner instantly became rude. He said: “It’s like this only. If you don’t like it, take your luggage and leave. No refund.” He hung up on us multiple times. We even asked for another room, and they admitted all rooms are the same. When we requested even a partial refund, both the owner and his wife started shouting at us — literally shouting — in an aggressive way that made us feel unsafe. At one point, we were scared they might even hit us. If I was alone, I genuinely don’t know what I would have done. They also told us that if we wanted hygiene, we should have paid ₹2,500 instead of ₹1,700, which is ridiculous. ₹1,700 is not free — the least we expect is a clean toilet and basic respect. At one point, the owner picked up a mop and started rubbing it on the toilet to “prove” something, instead of accepting that the bathroom itself was in horrible condition. The overall environment felt unsafe, especially for women. The behaviour, the shouting, the intimidating tone — everything made us feel extremely uncomfortable. This was by far the worst hospitality experience I’ve had. If you’re a woman or travelling with friends, do not book this place. No one deserves to be treated like this.
One of the best hostel experiences in Udaipur! The staff felt like family—super kind, helpful, and always supportive. They even kept our luggage after checkout and helped us explore the city. The vibe is amazing, the jamming café is lively, and the balcony view is absolutely mesmerising—we spent most of our time there. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Udaipur. Would love to stay again!
