HostelExp Varkala

I stayed at Hostel EXP during my first solo trip, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. Even though it was monsoon season not considered the ideal time to visit this hostel made my trip absolutely perfect. Honestly it’s the kind of place that would be amazing to stay in during any season. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The washrooms were also spotless, which made the whole space feel very comfortable. As a solo female traveller, safety was my top priority, and I felt completely safe here throughout my stay. Everything is within walking distance the beach is just 400 meters away, and the cliff with all the restaurants, cafes and shops is super close. I loved being able to walk everywhere and really take in the beauty of Varkala. The caretaker was incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming. There’s a kitchen available if you want to cook your own meals, and he even played board games with me in the common area when I needed company. The common area itself is lovely stocked with books, games and a cozy vibe that makes it easy to meet other travellers or just unwind. I had such a great time here met wonderful people slept well every night and felt truly at home. If you’re a solo traveller (especially a female traveller), I highly recommend Hostel EXP. It gave me the perfect first solo travel experience.

I have been staying for second time in this hostel. Had a great stay at the hostel — clean rooms, comfy beds, and friendly staff. The common area was lively Location was ideal, close to major attractions and eateries. Overall, a solid and budget-friendly choice for a pleasant stay!

Really good staff and helpful person. Also good situation for walk around the cliff. The meal community was a really good moment. You have a supermarket front of the hostel. I think its will be fine a fresh paint and some coach otd will be more cosy.

Overall a very good hostel! Very friendly management and owners! Everything was very clean and my room was great! I stayed in the female AC dorm. The team puts on community meals and other activities like yoga that makes it easy for you to meet other travellers and socialize! The only con is that the wifi does not reach to the rooms.
